Privacy Policy

Scorer is a basketball scorekeeping app for Android. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, email scorer.review@gmail.com.
1. What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google we receive your account identifier, email address, display name and profile photo URL. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- Game data you enter. Team names, player names and skill levels, scores, three-pointers, two-pointers, free throws, fouls, timeouts, game format and duration settings, any notes you add to a player, and the dates and times of scheduled games.
- Sign-in timestamps. When your account was created and when you last signed in.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
2. How we use it
- To run the app — recording games, keeping score and showing your history.
- To back up your finished games so they can be restored if you reinstall the app or switch device.
- To send you reminder notifications for games you have scheduled. These are generated on your own device.
- To respond to you when you contact support.
We never sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a marketing profile.
3. Where it is stored
- On your device. The app's own database holds your games and players locally. This is the primary copy, and once you have signed in the app keeps working without a network connection.
- In the cloud. If you are signed in, finished games are backed up to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), operated by Google LLC. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Google.
4. Who can see it
- You. Your cloud game data is readable and writable only by your own signed-in account. This is enforced by server-side security rules, not just by the app.
- The developer, in a limited way. To operate the service we maintain an internal list of registered accounts. One administrator account can view the email address, display name, profile photo and sign-in dates of registered users. This administrator access does not extend to your games, players, scores or notes, which remain readable only by you.
- Google, as our infrastructure provider, in order to host the service. Google's handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy.
- Nobody else. We do not share data with any other third party except where we are legally required to.
5. Your choices and your rights
- Signing in is required. Scorer uses a Google account to identify you and to keep your games separate from anyone else's, so an account is needed to use the app. If you would rather not have an account, the app is not usable without one.
- Stop cloud backup. Sign out at any time; no further data is uploaded. Signing out returns you to the sign-in screen.
- Delete your data. See Delete Your Account and Data for the full process, what is deleted, and how long it takes.
- Access or correct your data. Email us and we will provide a copy of what we hold about you, or correct it.
6. Age, and names of other people
Scorer is intended for users aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Players are not users. Scorer is used by a scorer — an adult or teenager keeping score — who types in the names of the players in a game. Those players, who may include children, do not have accounts, do not sign in, and provide us with nothing themselves. The only information recorded about them is what the account holder enters: a name, a skill level, their statistics for the game, and any note the scorer adds.
If you are the account holder, you are responsible for having a proper basis to record another person's name, and we ask that you enter no more detail than is needed to run the game. Anyone who wants a player record about them removed can ask the scorer who entered it, or contact us at the address below.
7. Governing law and how to raise a concern
This policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Punjab, India.
If you have a complaint about how your data has been handled, write to us at
scorer.review@gmail.com with the
subject line Scorer - Privacy Concern. We will acknowledge your
complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within
30 days.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date at the top will always show the current version, and material changes will be announced in the app's release notes.
